Allies are individuals from, and invested in, our city who are committed to making a difference through service, and who are looking for an opportunity to build skills and a network for a career serving their communities.

 

Our AmeriCorps Ally program, a 10 months paid opportunity with benefits, is available to all, without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, criminal record, political affiliation, marital or parental status, military service, community, or social affiliations.

Who Can Apply?
  • At least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or GED

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident

POC, LGBTQ+, Re-entering Citizens, veterans, transition age youth are  strongly encouraged to apply

Program Structure
Program Benefits
  • $1,500 monthly stipend

  • $5,920 Education Award upon successful completion.
    (Utilized to continue higher education or pay back qualifying student loans) 

  • SNAP benefit eligibility

  • Healthcare, Childcare provided

  • Networking with nonprofit and community leaders

  • Weekly 21st century skills training

Nonprofit Apprenticeship

Allies are placed with a nonprofit organization, 4 days per week, where they help address critical community needs such as youth development, education, workforce development, environmental issues, and community health. 

Leadership Training

Weekly Friday training provides skills development that build competencies for 21st century workforce. Topics include both professional and personal development ranging from project management to strengths assessments. 

Community Engagement

The Team Service Project connects a team of Allies to a neighborhood to develop, implement and evaluate a service project that engages existing assets of residents and stakeholders.
